Job Overview
One Roof is a ministry serving Coweta County. We operate a thrift store, food pantry, and office where we have financial assistance as well as distributions on occasion. We are looking to hire a part time retail clerk in the thrift store right now. Join our dynamic retail team as a Retail Clerk and become the friendly face that makes shopping an enjoyable experience! In this energetic role, you'll assist customers with their purchases and ensure the store remains well-stocked and inviting. Your enthusiasm and excellent communication skills will help create a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and eager to return. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop retail expertise, showcase your sales talents, and contribute to a vibrant shopping atmosphere. Perfect for any age, but we do require that you can lift up to 50 pounds. We do have dollies, buggies, and other assists when we receive a piece of furniture, as well as other helpers on site.
We are also looking for a part time lead position in our food pantry. Requirements include computer skills, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the job requires ordering, picking up, or receiving deliveries of food, and helping to stock shelves, and keep inventory replenished. There are monthly reports required. Depending on your skill set, and work history, we can negotiate the pay rate.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Conduct product demos to inform customers about features and benefits of various items
- Process donations and assist customers as they donate
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and maintaining store cleanliness to ensure an inviting environment
- Upsell products by recommending relevant items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with stock replenishment as needed
Requirements
- We want a teammate with a heart for ministry, since that is what we do.
- We would love to hire someone with an eye for design and displays in the thrift store.
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are highly valued for engaging diverse customers effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and retail math is advantageous
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are a plus for those interested in growth opportunities
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and grocery store operations enhances your fit for this role
