As we enter our next phase of growth, we’re seeking an experienced IT Strategy Consultant to partner directly with the CEO to help design the digital backbone of One River’s future - spanning mobile app, integrated website, member management, and data intelligence. This role blends strategic advisory with hands-on leadership to deliver a scalable, secure, and elegant ecosystem for students, families, and teams.
Position Summary
The IT Strategy Consultant will define and lead One River’s technology roadmap across mobile app, web, CRM, and analytics, aligning architecture with business goals for enrollment, retention, operational excellence and scalability. You’ll support vendor selection, set integration standards, establish data strategy and reporting, insure exceptional UX across every digital touchpoint and oversee the development and execution via 3rd party technology firms and marketing agencies.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Architecture
Partner with the CEO to design a multi-year technology roadmap aligned to growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency
Define enterprise architecture spanning mobile app, website, CRM, payments, and data: prioritizing scalability and security
Translate business outcomes (enrollment, retention, utilization, revenue) into platform requirements, and measurable KPIs.
Build a scalable platform that can support online education
Vendor Selection & Delivery Management
Lead the RFP process for app and web; evaluate proposals, recommend tech stacks
Establish integration standards (APIs, webhooks, SSO/identity) and oversee delivery against milestones, budget, and quality.
Create a pragmatic backlog and release plan; guide partners through build, QA, UAT, and launch.
Product Experience
Advise on UX/UI principles to ensure a seamless, modern experience across mobile and web—reducing friction from discovery to enrollment to ongoing membership.
Align systems to support key user journeys
Data, Analytics & Intelligence
Develop a unified data strategy (governance, pipelines, storage) and business reporting for core metrics (enrollment, retention, cohort behavior, efficiency, LTV/CAC).
Stand up dashboards for leadership and school operations
Risk, Security & Reliability
Recommend security protocols and systems and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Qualifications
Required:
10 years in technology strategy, digital transformation, or IT consulting with end-to-end platform delivery (web app CRM).
Depth in systems architecture, APIs/integration, cloud platforms, and data management.
Proven success leading agencies/vendors from RFP through launch
Exceptional communication skills; translates complex technical concepts for non-technical leaders
Entrepreneurial, hands-on and comfortable in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Preferred
Prior VP Technology or senior consulting experience for multi-location or membership-based companies.
Experience in education, creative industries, or lifestyle brands.
Familiarity with HubSpot (or comparable CRM/marketing automation).
Working knowledge of modern stacks (e.g., React, Node.js, Flutter, AWS/GCP, event-driven integration, CDPs).
Engagement & Compensation
Engagement: Contract / Part Time (10-20 hours a week for 18–24 months)
Compensation: $70,000 (for part-time role)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based); occasional in-person collaboration may be required in Englewood, NJ
