The Role

We are searching for a highly skilled Therapy Medical Physicist to join our dedicated team of experts. Our candidates must be well-trained in Radiation Oncology and be able to work in a collaborative team environment.


Clinic Information:

  • This position is located in Richmond, VA market and will be also supporting surrounding areas.
  • This clinics you will support have both Varian and Elekta equipment.
  • Treatment planning systems include Mosaiq, Monaco, Aria & Eclipse.
  • This role will partner with a great team of several physicists, dosimetrist (onsite and remote), and physicians.


What You’ll Do

  • Perform weekly and monthly radiation measurements, as well as yearly calibration on all treatment units.
  • Monitor equipment in the Radiation Oncology Department to ensure that it is functioning correctly and safely.
  • Maintain regulatory agency records and reports.
  • Analyze alternative treatment plans and supervise dosimetry treatment planning functions.
  • Implement assessment/treatment and care based on the developmental stages of the patient.
  • Perform additional duties, as needed.


What You’ll Need

  • Master’s Degree and/or PhD in Medical Physics.
  • A board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics, or board eligibility as demonstrated by graduation from a CAMPEP accredited residency in therapy physics.
  • 2 years of clinical Therapy Medical Physics experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret regulations.
  • A willingness to go “above and beyond” for clients and fellow colleagues.
  • Demonstrate initiative, organization, and ownership of daily tasks and projects.
  • Ability to problem solve by seeking, developing, and implementing viable solutions.


Physical Requirements

  • Requires ability to use and move equipment.
  • Requires a variety of physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, stopping, lifting, carrying.
  • Exposure to radiation, communicable diseases, and other conditions common to radiation therapy setting.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location, as well as candidate experience, education level and expertise. Salary : $175,000 - $220,000
