The Role
We are searching for a highly skilled Chief Therapy Medical Physicist to join our dedicated team of experts. Candidates must be well-trained in Radiation Oncology and able to work in a collaborative team environment.
Clinic Information
- This position is located in the Baltimore, MD market.
- Clinical technology includes VersaHD (Elekta), TomoTherapy (Accuray) GammaMed HDR
- Treatment planning systems include RayStation and Mosaiq.
- You will lead a strong team including physicists, dosimetrists (onsite and remote), and physicians.
What You’ll Do
- Perform weekly and monthly radiation measurements, as well as yearly calibration on all treatment units.
- Monitor equipment in the Radiation Oncology Department to ensure correct and safe functionality.
- Maintain regulatory agency records and reports.
- Analyze alternative treatment plans and supervise dosimetry treatment-planning functions.
- Implement assessment/treatment and care based on the developmental stages of the patient.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
What You’ll Need
- Master’s Degree and/or PhD in Medical Physics.
- Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics, or board eligibility through completion of a CAMPEP-accredited therapy physics residency.
- 7 years of clinical Therapy Medical Physics experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret regulations.
- Willingness to go “above and beyond” for clients and colleagues.
- Demonstrated initiative, organization, and ownership of daily tasks and projects.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, including developing and implementing viable solutions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use and move equipment.
- Requires a variety of physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, lifting, and carrying.
- Exposure to radiation, communicable diseases, and other conditions common to radiation therapy settings.
- Occasional evening or weekend work.
