Qualifications
Education
- BS/BA Degree required; BSW in human service-related preferred
- 1-3 years of related experience in child welfare required
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance required
- Daytime crisis intervention services, hours starting at 8 am-7 pm or later.
- Crisis calls may extend past 5 pm, and staff are required to complete the crisis until coverage from the evening shift arrives.
- Some coverage of nights, weekends, and holidays if schedule or staffing requires additional support.
- Conducts Crisis/Safety Assessment with an ETA of 60 minutes for CCRP or 90-minutes to respond in person for other crisis programs.
- Links clients to necessary resources, e.g., health insurance, therapy, housing, and medical treatment.
- Provides in-home services to identify service needs, assess child and family safety, develop safety plans, and provide services to meet family and child needs
- Implements services under the guidelines of the practice framework, known as ARC (Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency)
- Can offer follow-up services after crisis response up to or extended past 90 days of crisis. These services could include follow-up through completion of Mental Health Assessments, Treatment Plans, and other Case Management services.
- Provides mental health stabilization and specific services, as determined by the funding source (such as Medicaid), where applicable.
- Completes required paperwork within established timelines and Medicaid-compliant documentation
- Will obtain and recertify for the IM CANS assessment tool yearly
- Handles aspects of intake and assessment as assigned per program need.
- Provides transportation for clients in accordance with program guidelines.
- Assists in the integration of all services provided for the client by serving as a central point of communication for service components during crisis
- Represents the agency at court hearings as necessary
- Maintains comprehensive client files.
- With supervisory or Director approval, there are instances in which crisis response event may require tele-assessment services or phone support.
- Utilizes assessment tools to determine the immediate level of care needs and service array for referred clients, which may specifically include determination of psychiatric hospitalization or safe deflection.
- Facilitates linkage to a psychiatric hospital when determined to be needed, and facilitates linkage to transportation services to the psychiatric hospital.
- Completes a Safety Plan or Crisis Prevention Plan at all Mobile Crisis Response events with client/guardian and collateral involvement and under the guidance of a QMHP and LPHA.
- Provides resource information to clients and guardians to assist in crisis management. Provides training and education to caretakers during crisis stabilization.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
