Responsibilities
The program consists of gas distribution, field service, and gas operations while focusing on safety including:
- excavation
- fire extinguishers
- hazard communication
- respiratory protection
- personal protective equipment training
- safe vehicle operation
- Safely operating company equipment
- Ability to perform general construction labor related to installation of main lines, service renewals, and line replacement
- Troubleshooting and investigating gas leaks
- First responder to leaks - reacting immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others
- Examining and inspecting gas appliances and performing re-lights
- Accurately communicating company policies and procedures and assisting customers with inquiries while on site
Personal Skills Required

The successful candidate must have:
- a high school diploma or equivalent
- a valid driver's license
- a CDL or the ability to successfully obtain a CDL during the 180-day probationary period
- Candidates must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the job and operate within a short time frame as needed.
- Must be able to recognize consequences of erroneous actions, concentrate on tasks, and apply procedures.
- The successful candidate must have the ability to process information in an organized, timely and accurate manner.
- The successful candidate must have the ability to work shift work, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency situations.
- Required to respond to service center within 30 minutes.
- Overtime will be required during peak seasons as well as on business need, and callout will also be required on a rotating basis.
- Experience in the gas industry in a construction environment and working knowledge of operating safety procedures and regulations, such as OSHA and Pipeline Safety, is preferred
