This posting is for a part-time Dental Assistant who is interested in working Tuesday and Wednesday, full 8-9 hours per day. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and various dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
- Take dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Record and maintain accurate patient records.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies, ordering as necessary to maintain stock levels.
- Implement aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a clean working environment.
- Support patients with empathy and understanding, creating a welcoming atmosphere for children.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but will train.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with endodontics and other specialized areas of dentistry is a plus.
- Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding radiographic techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment in the clinic.
