Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach and engage with community members to provide health education and resources
- Assist individuals in navigating the healthcare system, including Medicare enrollment and understanding medical terminology
- Provide support and counseling for individuals struggling with addiction or other health-related issues
- Collect data and maintain accurate records of client interactions and outcomes
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement health promotion programs
- Conduct public speaking engagements to raise awareness about health issues and promote community wellness
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower individuals to make positive health choices
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Medicare and experience working with diverse populations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with individuals from various backgrounds
- Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to explain complex medical concepts in a clear and understandable manner
- Experience in addiction counseling or related fields is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate data collection and record keeping
- Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to working with individuals facing health challenges
