Position Summary

The Allergy Nurse provides clinical and administrative support within the allergy and immunology department. This role involves direct patient care, allergy testing, immunotherapy administration, and coordination of care under the supervision of the allergist physician. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering compassionate care to patients with allergic, asthmatic, and immunologic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:

• Allergy testing including skin prick testing, intradermal testing, and patch testing
• Administer allergy immunotherapy (allergy shots) per physician orders and monitor patients post-injection for adverse reactions
• Help perform office spirometry/pulmonary function tests as directed
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, chief complaints, and medication lists in the EHR
• Assist physician with oral food challenges
• Administer medications (injections, nebulizers, epinephrine) per standing orders and physician instruction
• Triage patient calls and messages; provide patient education on allergy management, avoidance strategies, and medication use

Administrative Duties:

• Call patients with lab results as directed by physician
• Order medications, biologics, and diagnostic studies
• Prepare and process referral documentation and medical records requests
• Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation in compliance with clinic policies

Manage exam room stocking, sterilization of equipment

Required Qualifications

• Active LPN, LVN in good standing
• BLS
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office, primary care, or specialty setting
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
