Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services to support manufacturing operations. Additionally, this role is responsible for maintaining the MySis manufacturing ERP system. This role ensures that suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements while maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting continuous improvement within the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase raw materials, components, equipment, and services for manufacturing operations.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on price, quality, delivery, and service.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure materials meet technical and operational requirements.
- Maintain the Ambulance Build of Material (BOM).
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with planning/scheduling to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Process purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records in the ERP system.
- Identify and develop alternative suppliers to mitigate supply chain risk.
- Resolve issues related to late deliveries, defective materials, or invoice discrepancies.
- Stay informed on market trends, pricing, and new products that could benefit operations.
- Support compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction on the production floor and with suppliers.
- May require occasional travel to vendor sites.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience, required in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
