Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external customers, which includes transmission work center personnel, vendors, and manufactures.
- Provide support and guidance to Transmission work centers regarding installation, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and failure investigations of transmission assets.
- Procure spare and/or replacement parts as needed for maintaining transmission switches, disconnects, interrupters, motor operators, and other related equipment through direct contact with manufactures and vendors.
- Find innovative ways of improving process efficiencies as well as assist in improving existing workflows.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments, products/technology, trends, and best practices through involvement in industry organizations.
- Test, evaluate, and provide recommendations on new technology and tools that support the installation, maintenance and condition monitoring of transmission assets.
- Create, revise, and maintain procedures, reference documents, service advisories and operational guidelines for maintenance and operation of station and line assets that ensure reliable, safe, and cost-effective asset operation.
- Maintain record of, analyze, and report on system events to identify trends and mitigate operational risks.
- Lead the effort in equipment failure root cause analysis investigations with manufacturers and within the Company to determine and recommended corrective or proactive measures/action(s) to prevent similar failures.
- Support operations personnel during emergency and system outage events through coordination of resources, mobile equipment, and material.
- Lead and assist in the training of transmission operations personnel in a manner that promotes safe and best work practices.
- Lead and support Oncor employee and contractor training related to installation, commissioning, maintaining, repair, and replacement of switches, disconnects, interrupters, motor operators, and other related equipment.
- Act as a project coordinator on special jobs or assignments involving multiple work groups.
- Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills for effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Must be flexible and have organizational skills to handle diverse types of work
- Ability to take a leadership role on projects and effectively work through completion in support of organizational goals.
- Comprehensive knowledge of substation equipment, which would include experience with circuit breakers, transformers, switches, Load Tap Changers (LTCs), and regulators.
- Basic knowledge of data analysis tools and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently.

- Ability to effectively communicate complex subject matter and company issues to vendor and Oncor Electric Delivery employees and contractors.
- Demonstrates ownership of projects and high level of knowledge in a relevant area of focus within Oncor.
- Recognized as a technical equipment specialist for installation, commissioning, maintaining, repair, and replacement of switches, disconnects, interrupters, motor operators, and other related equipment.
- On-call support needed by customers (TGM, Transmission Districts, Engineering, etc.).
- Ability and willingness to learn from and teach others.
- Ability to prioritize work between reactive and planned activities.
- Promotes the prompt return of grid components when problems are experienced.
- Trouble-shooting and root cause investigation skills.
- Execution and documentation of best practice procedures/guidelines.
