Position Summary
As the Human Capital Management (HCM) System Architect at Oncor, you’re responsible for utilizing the UltiPro HCM system to provide strategic data and information support for the Human Resources (HR) team to best support Oncor’s business initiatives. Activities include planning and aligning HR strategies with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) service delivery and ongoing support of all HR business processes and workflows.
You’ll develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of all enterprise HR functions by monitoring business trends and patterns and aligning support to fulfill business needs. This will involve process and workflow development, organization management, systems analysis, interface, data management, reporting, analytics, effective communication and exchange with internal partners and external vendors. This role is viewed both internally and externally as both a technical expert and critical resource across multiple disciplines, acting as an internal consultant, advocate, and change agent.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Work with HR team to develop a strategic HRIS vision that encompasses core process and workflow needs, goals, and objectives; build an alignment around technologies to get to the preferred end state.
- Serve as a system administrator for the full UltiPro HCM/HRIS suite of products, including maintaining security roles, business rules and configuration.
- Provide production support/customer service to internal partners, including researching and resolving HR systems or interface issues, unexpected results or process flaws.
- Develop business requirements and system specifications, conduct testing, and provide implementation support for all key HRIS applications, upgrades, interfaces and reports/queries.
- Perform project management, systems analysis, problem / issue management and resolution, root-cause analysis and other tasks as directed.
- Plan and promote the use of UltiPro and our Analytics tool to increase productivity, decrease rework, eliminate waste and help improve data integrity.
- Work with IT and others to evaluate new technologies that enable process improvement and to help coordinate technology activities across the company.
- Work with vendors to identify and resolve impacting issues and trends; communicate and escalate as required.
- Manage escalations and ensure timely response to critical business system impairments.
- Lead issue resolution teams and act as the coordinator for internal team, cross-functional and vendor resources.
- Coordinate between vendor team resources and impacted business stakeholders for production release updates and upgrades.
- Assist with HR Systems program documentation by developing user procedures, guidelines and documentation.
- Train internal HR on new processes/functionality.
- Responsible for processing organizational management changes and accuracy of data.
- Work with HR partners to develop and provide standard, ad hoc, and compliance reporting as required (including writing, maintaining, and supporting a variety of reports or queries utilizing Cognos Business Intelligence (BI), Structured Query Language (SQL), Tableau and Excel).
- Maintain awareness of current trends within the HRIS systems. Examine trends in HCM systems training, materials and techniques. Participate in user group meetings / conferences.
- Occasional long, irregular hours.
- Use of a PC, computer terminal and/or telephone over 4 hours a day.
- Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, and/or reaching to access job-related materials.
- Strong knowledge of information systems and HR-related information technology including HCM and Analytics systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and organization skill with the ability to transfer technical knowledge, especially to those in non-technical field of experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of HR and Information Technology (IT) security and controls.
- Ability to influence change and facilitate cooperation across organizational lines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Strong aptitude for critical thinking, insights and analysis, to include demonstrated consideration of all up and downstream impacts of a recommendation to understand intended and unintended consequences, and the ability to provide different options/solutions to meet the business needs.

- Strong project management skills – must be able to set project schedules, manage tasks, influence others without authority and mitigate project risks.
- Strong understanding of benefit procedures, eligibility and enrollment rules to ensure correct implementation.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent and 5 years of HRIS, HR Generalist or Specialist experience to include experience participating in complex project teams is required.
- In addition, 3 years of demonstrated experience in the UltiPro HCM system is required.
- Applicants with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related discipline with a technical focus or equivalent work experience are encouraged to apply.
