Summary
A Design Coordinator develops designs and prepares estimates to ensure quality construction of electric distribution system additions, expansions, and modifications in accordance with all Company policies, governmental requirements, and accepted standards to meet the needs of new and existing customers within budgetary guidelines. You will function in a lead role in a work group in support of the Project Management Design Services (PMDS) Design Supervisor or Manager with minimal supervision to coordinate the activities of others and program design contractors. As a Design Coordinator you will provide project management services for these projects from inception through completion, serve as a subject matter expert in support of Company initiatives, and take a lead role in training new designers.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements
- Coordinates Design workgroup preparation of designs and estimates for projects and/or manages projects to provide electric facilities to meet customer needs
- Designs reviewed must ensure reliable, economical, safe, and timely expansion of the Oncor electric distribution facilities
- Provides direct assistance to others within the Design workgroup as needed for design or project management assistance on complex projects
- Assist with projects that are highly complicated and require a higher than usual level of design and project management skills
- Consistently produces a higher-than-average volume of projects
- Monitor projects through work close process to ensure timely completion and accurate posting of data and financial records
- Communicate with customers and other work groups to ensure internal and external expectations are met
- Incorporate safety as an aspect in the design and operation of facilities to ensure personnel and public safety
- Effectively review work group productivity and volume measures
- Actively participate in personal developmental planning and training to expand knowledge and opportunities for self as well as others
- Functions in a Design workgroup leadership role for the coordination of work activities and internal/external communications, providing design/policy interpretation, concurrence, and business decisions
- Reviews and approves Work Authorizations prepared by others within work group per delegation of authority
- Routinely performs tasks normally handled by other groups. (Example: Performs both New Construction Management (NCM) and Design roles for assigned projects)
- Recognized as the subject matter expert (SME) for specific company initiatives
- Routinely communicates with other workgroups including providing leadership, support, and training
- Must be able and available to assist in storm restoration efforts
- Stakeholder management skills with internal and external customers
- Communication skills with associates at all levels within an organization
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
- 4 or more years of direct or related design, construction, or operations experience is required
- Previous experience as a Designer for an electric utility company is encouraged to apply

- Promotes and encourages safety awareness and provides positive contributions to the safety program
- Provides effective leadership and direction, both in and outside of the group, to ensure goals and objectives are met
- Works effectively with management and other groups to achieve acceptable customer satisfaction survey results
- Appropriately represents the company in a positive manner
- Ensures effective audit results are achieved
- Effectively coordinates projects from inception to completion when working independently and with other work groups
- Timely completion of Employment Development plans
- Ensures the production of high-quality work estimates
- Ensures the production of acceptable quantities of work estimates
- Accurately completes work assignments and other paperwork in acceptable time frames
