Job Description

## The Opportunity

We are a global healthcare leader, recognized for our leadership in immuno-oncology and vaccines. Our Research & Development division is seeking a curious and collaborative Senior Scientist to join the Quantitative Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics – Immune/Oncology (QP2-IO) Department. This is a chance to support our rapidly expanding oncology pipelines, working with cross-functional teams to discover and develop novel therapeutic agents. As a senior specialist, you’ll be a skilled quantitative scientist with a strong grasp of the strategic elements of drug discovery and development. Collaboration and excellent communication are key.

## What You’ll Do

You’ll contribute to developing model-based strategies—including translational PK/PD, mechanistic modeling, POPPK/PD, and clinical trial simulations—for quantitative analyses across programs and departments. These analyses inform and optimize drug discovery and all phases of development, from dose selection to trial design and go/no-go decisions. You’ll represent QP2-IO on oncology discovery, early clinical, and late clinical development teams, using quantitative approaches to streamline development. You’ll also collaborate with other functional areas, external vendors, and partners on study design, protocol development, execution, reporting, and data interpretation.

## Who You Are

  • *Minimum Education:**
  • A Ph.D. with 0–2 years of experience, or a Pharm. D, MS, or equivalent degree with preferably 2–4 years of relevant experience. “Experience” means a record of increasing responsibility and independence in a similar role in pharmaceutical drug development, a regulatory agency, or academia.
  • *Required Experience & Skills:**
  • Educational background in biopharmaceutics, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacometrics, chemical/biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience performing population PK and PK/PD analyses using standard pharmacometrics software like NONMEM, Monolix, or Phoenix.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and problem scoping and planning skills.
  • *Preferred:**
  • Knowledge of oncology clinical drug development programs.
  • Skills in experimental design, mathematical problem solving, critical data analysis/interpretation, and statistics.
  • Scientific understanding of biopharmaceutical and ADME properties of small molecules and/or biologics.

## Work Arrangement & Compensation

This role can be hybrid or remote. Remote is only available for candidates not within commutable distance to the primary sites (standard commute is less than 50 miles). If commutable, the position will be hybrid.
