Once Upon a Childcare is looking for an experienced Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our team! As a teacher, you will build relationships with your families, maintain cleanliness throughout your classroom, update parents through our daily reports, and show patience and kindness to children. We are looking for happy, smiling faces to join our one-of-a-kind program and create a fun, engaging environment for our children and families.
Responsibilities:
- Help the lead teacher implement the daily lesson
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc).
- Track children's progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche.
- Collaborate with other educators.
- Maintain a clean, tidy classroom in accordance with health and safety standards.

Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility
- Child development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses are a plus!
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as a mediator between children
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
- Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
