Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Project Management:
Plan, coordinate, and execute fiber optic network installation and maintenance projects, including developing detailed work plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and lead a team of fiber optic technicians and other technical personnel.
- Technical Expertise:
Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure the quality and reliability of fiber optic splicing, termination, and overall network performance.
- Quality & Safety:
Establish and enforce quality standards, procedures, and safety protocols for all fiber optic activities.
- Resource Management:
Manage budgets, monitor project costs, and oversee the inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Client and Vendor Relations:
Liaise with clients, vendors, and other departments to understand requirements, resolve concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to industry standards and safety regulations throughout all projects.
Key Skills & Knowledge
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in fiber optic cabling systems (single-mode and multi-mode), splicing, termination, and testing. Analyze fiber optic cable OTDR scans and compile reports for submission
- Network Management:
Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools and telecommunications protocols.
- Project Management:
Strong skills in planning, execution, cost control, and risk management for complex projects.
- Leadership:
Ability to lead and motivate technical teams effectively.
- Communication:
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with diverse teams, stakeholders, and clients.
- Adaptability:
Flexibility to balance office-based planning with on-site supervision and troubleshooting.
- Continuous Learning:
A commitment to staying updated on emerging fiber optic technologies and industry advancements.
- Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager
