What are the responsibilities and job description for the Appliance Installation Helper position at On-Time Shipping LLC?
We are currently looking for a dependable and hardworking Appliance Delivery & Installation Helper to join our team. Our warehouse is based out of Richmond, Virginia, and the helper will report there to begin the assigned route with the driver.
This position involves approximately 12–16 residential delivery stops per day. You will work alongside a driver and assist with delivering, moving, and installing household appliances.
Responsibilities
- Report to our Richmond, VA warehouse for assigned routes
- Ride with the assigned driver throughout the daily route
- Assist with approximately 12–16 stops per day
- Help load, unload, carry, and safely move household appliances
- Assist with the installation of electric appliances, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, and electric ranges
- Gas appliances, dishwashers, and microwaves are drop-off only and do not require installation
- Help protect customers’ floors, walls, doors, and property while moving appliances
- Assist with securing appliances and equipment inside the truck
- Help complete required delivery photos and documentation when needed
- Communicate professionally with customers and the operations team
- Keep the truck and work area clean and organized
- Work closely with the driver to complete the route safely and efficiently
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug screening
- Must be able to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English for safety instructions, customer communication, and delivery procedures
- Appliance delivery or installation experience is preferred but not required
- Must be comfortable with physical work and lifting/moving heavy appliances
- Must be dependable, punctual, and ready to work
- Must have good communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to work well as part of a two-person delivery team
- Must take proper care of company equipment and customers’ property
Compensation
- 1099 independent contractor position
- $150 per day
- Paid weekly
- Helper keeps their own tips
We are looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable, professional, and comfortable with physical work in a fast-paced delivery environment.
Experience with appliance delivery, furniture delivery, moving, installation, or final-mile delivery is a plus.
