Manufacturing Production Supervisor

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year

Job description:

Direct supervision of production employees. Perform a variety of duties consisting of developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing and assembly processes in order to produce products in accordance with company and customer requirements. Knowledge of the basics of plant floor leadership.

Knowledge of a wide range of air filter assembly processes, product standards and specifications of raw materials. Uses ability to read and interpret sketches, drawings, technical manuals, specifications and work orders in planning and laying out work.

REQUIREMENTS:

· At least five years experience as a Production Supervisor with a record of success

· Capable of learning an established process and successfully implementing it.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for the direct supervision of all production employees and meeting all manufacturing , quality and delivery requirements

· Production materials control

· Identification of inefficiencies, bottlenecks and downtime issues, ultimately leading to improvement proposals and implementation of solutions

· Utilize root cause analysis to implement corrective actions

· Provide manufacturing process support services to existing plant activities as well as new project and development activities

· Provide operator training and develop written job instructions

· Responsible for staffing the production schedule to include: work station assignments, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees, changeovers

· Coordinate with HR for appropriate staffing levels

· Conduct employee interviews and performance reviews

· Schedule and conduct shift meetings

· Communicate with other Shift Supervisors and Plant Manager

· Promote teamwork and build a culture of continuous improvement

· Ensure a clean and safe work area

· Complete shift paperwork

· Assist in production as necessary

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.

· Trained in root cause analysis and technical trouble shooting

· Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures and machinery. This is normally acquired through two to five years of manufacturing experience.

· Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

· Able to work overtime as needed.

· Able to perform all duties and responsibilities listed safely and wear required Personal Protective Equipment.

· Able to report every work day, on time and for the entire shift.

· Must have positive attitude and strong work ethic

· 5:00 am - 1:30 pm; Monday to Friday
