Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will perform comprehensive repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on a wide range of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure our customers’ vehicles operate safely and efficiently, keeping their operations moving forward.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension, and HVAC components on trucks and trailers
- Conduct vehicle inspections using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately
- Perform fabrication, welding, tire service, and heavy equipment operation as needed for repairs or modifications
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and specialized machinery to complete repairs efficiently
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Assist with assembly, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance to extend vehicle lifespan
- Support customer service efforts by explaining repairs clearly and providing professional advice
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership or independent repair shop environments working on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems
- Ability to read schematics and use automotive diagnostics software effectively
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding (including aluminum), and heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar industrial machinery is a plus
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and tire service tools
- Knowledge of electrical systems in vehicles; experience with electrical troubleshooting is preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused attitude
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments

Pay: $28.00 - $50.00 per hour
