Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team at our gas station. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and the ability to handle transactions accurately. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service while managing cash handling, processing sales, lottery transactions, and assisting customers with their shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately to process customer transactions.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision while ensuring compliance with cash handling procedures.
• Assist in stocking shelves and merchandising products to enhance the shopping experience.
• Conduct product demos to promote new items and encourage upselling opportunities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area and store environment.
• Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance and support during busy periods.
• Utilize strong communication skills to engage with customers in both English and other languages if bilingual.

Requirements

• Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred.
• Familiarity with gas stations is a plus.
• Strong basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience in merchandising and stocking is a plus.
• Experience with handling lottery transactions is a plus.
