Duties
- Provide expert hair styling, cutting, coloring, and finishing services tailored to each client’s preferences and hair type
- Perform barbering services including straight razor shaves, beard trims, and classic cuts with precision
- Apply hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and nail care treatments to enhance client looks
- Utilize salon software such as MINDBODY for scheduling appointments, managing client profiles, and processing retail sales
- Educate clients on hair care routines, product recommendations, and retail upselling to boost salon revenue
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness by adhering to strict sanitation protocols for tools and workspaces
- Assist front desk duties including client communication, appointment confirmations, and check-in/check-out procedures
- Mentor junior team members in techniques like hair threading, makeup application, and retail sales strategies
- Stay current on industry trends in hair coloring (color theory), styling techniques, and new product offerings
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license as required by local regulations
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a strong portfolio of hair styling and grooming services
- Proficiency with salon software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms for appointment management
- Knowledge of hair care products, hair coloring techniques, and retail sales strategies including upselling
- Skilled in barbering techniques including straight razor shaves and traditional cuts
- Experience with hair extensions, eyelash extensions, nail care, and makeup application is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients and team members
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
- Ability to multitask efficiently at the front desk while delivering top-tier client service
