Job Summary
Now Hiring: Early Childhood Dance Educator
On Stage Academy of Performing Arts is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Childhood Dance Educator to join our teaching team.
We are looking for a teacher who truly enjoys working with young children and understands how to introduce dance in a positive, creative, age-appropriate environment.
Classes include:
- Baby Stars: Ages 3–4
- Tiny Stars: Ages 4–5
- Bright Stars: Ages 5–7
Each 45-minute class incorporates:
- Ballet fundamentals
- Tap fundamentals
- Creative movement
- Music and rhythm activities
- Age-appropriate coordination and motor-skill development
- Fun activities that encourage confidence, creativity, and a love of dance
Qualifications:
- Dance teaching experience required
- Experience working specifically with preschool and early elementary-aged children
- Knowledge of ballet and tap
- Experience with creative movement and musical activities
- Ability to manage a classroom while keeping lessons positive, engaging, and structured
- Dependable, energetic, patient, and comfortable communicating with parents

Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate dance curricula that incorporate movement, rhythm, and basic choreography suitable for preschool children
- Lead interactive dance classes that promote physical activity, coordination, and creative expression
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan special performances or showcases that highlight students’ progress
- Use various teaching methods including storytelling, props, musical instruments, and multimedia tools to enrich lessons
- Maintain detailed lesson plans and progress records for each student to monitor development and tailor instruction accordingly
Skills
- Strong background in early childhood education with experience working with preschool-aged children
- Expertise in curriculum development focused on creative arts instruction including dance, theater, visual arts, and music
- Proven classroom management skills to foster positive behavior and engagement among young learners
- Experience teaching dance instruction, choreography, ballet, or other performing arts suitable for early childhood settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific teaching strategies
- Ability to incorporate musical instruments, singing, and rhythm activities into dance lessons
- Excellent lesson planning skills with a focus on creativity, inclusivity, and developmental milestones
- Competence in using photography or video recording tools for documenting student progress or performances
- Additional skills such as sewing or culinary experience are considered a plus for integrating multi-disciplinary arts activities
