Summary
We are seeking a Service Writer to join our team at On-Site Services. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily coordination of work in the field for our critical customers. This position works closely with the Service Manager and Territory Managers to coordinate and schedule work in the field. This person also works closely with our Parts administrators to ensure that parts’ needs are being properly sourced and tracked on open work orders for proper billing to our customer base. This role will be responsible for bridging the gap between customers, technicians, and management.
Responsibilities
- Document customer service requests accurately and efficiently to ensure high quality and accurate management of work orders throughout the life cycle of the work order (open, update, audit, close).
- Provide detailed estimates for repairs and maintenance services.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding their equipment issues.
- Technician liaison, bridging the gap between our business system and work completed in the shop or field.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction.
- Advise customers on preventive maintenance options to avoid future issues.
- Demonstrate professional attitude, conduct and appearance.
- Establish and maintain good relations with customers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a federal background check and drug screening.
- Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in service writing or a similar role in the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of the importance of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to provide accurate estimates based on diagnostics.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and software is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge is essential; experience as a mechanic is a plus.
- Experience with Dealership Management Software is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
