On-Site Security is seeking a professional Security Manager to support licensed cannabis facilities in Illinois.
The Security Manager oversees security operations across multiple Illinois locations, ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, and property. This role is responsible for supervising unarmed security personnel, managing schedules, monitoring attendance, and ensuring compliance with state regulations. The Security Manager will also coordinate incident responses, maintain accurate records, and serve as the primary point of contact for both staff and clients.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support unarmed security staff across assigned locations.
- Develop, manage, and adjust staff schedules to ensure proper coverage.
- Monitor employee attendance and address performance or conduct concerns.
- Respond to and document security incidents in a timely and professional manner.
- Train and mentor security staff on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with security protocols and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate with local management and clients regarding security needs and service adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records, including schedules, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all staff adhere to state and local regulations for security operations.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding of new security staff as needed.
- Serve as a liaison with law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of security management or supervisory experience.
- Background in highly regulated or sensitive industries such as cannabis, healthcare, or government strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of security operations, protocols, and incident response.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage scheduling, staffing, and performance in a multi-site environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- State-required security certifications/licenses as applicable.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, an Illinois Private Security Contractor license, within 60 days of employment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to respond quickly to security incidents or emergencies.
Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor environments across multiple client sites.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions during site visits.
- May require evening, overnight, or weekend availability depending on client needs.
Travel Requirements:
- Regular travel between Illinois client locations; mileage reimbursement available per company policy.
