Job Overview

The Wheel Service Equipment Specialist is responsible for installing, servicing, repairing, and calibrating automotive wheel service equipment, including tire changers, wheel balancers, alignment systems, and related shop equipment. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service.

In addition to technical service responsibilities, the technician will conduct equipment demonstrations for customers, explain equipment features and benefits, identify customer needs, and actively promote the sale of wheel service equipment and related products. The technician will serve as both a technical resource and a product representative, helping customers select equipment that best meets their shop's needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate wheel service equipment at customer locations and/or company facilities.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment issues.
  • Calibrate and adjust wheel service equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Setup and train customers and shop personnel on proper equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to identify equipment concerns and explain recommended repairs.
  • Maintain a professional and organized work area and vehicle
  • Travel to customer locations as required to complete installations and service calls.
  • Assist with equipment assembly, disassembly, relocation, and upgrades when needed.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical or technical experience, preferably with automotive service equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Basic understanding of automotive wheel and tire service equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy equipment and parts safely.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Experience

Experience with tire changers, wheel balancers, alignment machines and automotive shop equipment, or similar industrial equipment is highly desirable.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
