What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lube Technician For Heavy Construction Machinery - Part-Time position at On Site Lube?
Lube Technician Wanted
*If you are interested in applying for this position, we strongly encourage you to send us a message or give us a call letting us know a bit about yourself and why you would be a good fit: 801-330-5591.
Who We Are
On Site Lube is a mobile lube service, and hydraulic hose repair company specializing in heavy construction equipment — excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, skid steers, semi trucks, and more. We go to our customers' job sites and keep their machines running so they don't have to stop working. Every day is different, every job site is new, and the work matters.
We're a small, growing operation and we take pride in doing things right, doing them fast, and treating every customer like they're our only one.
The Role
We're looking for a part-time Lube Technician & Hose Repair Specialist who is ready to hit the ground running. This is a hands-on, mobile position — you'll pick up the service vehicle from our Saratoga Springs home base and head out to job sites across the valley.
This position is genuinely part-time and seasonal — hours flex between 10 and 35 per week depending on the time of year. Summers get busy. Winters slow down. We need someone who is completely comfortable with that reality and sees the flexibility as a benefit, not a drawback.
Because construction equipment often can't be serviced during the workday, this role regularly includes evenings and weekends. If that kind of schedule works for your life, this job will fit like a glove.
What You'll Do
- Perform oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks on heavy construction equipment
- Change engine oil, differential oil, transmission oil, and hydraulic oil
- Visually inspect machines and flag any issues you notice
- Use hand tools and power tools to complete services efficiently
- Keep the service truck clean, organized, and stocked
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with job site supervisors and equipment operators
What We're Looking For
We don't need someone who has to be told what to do next — we need someone who sees what needs to be done and does it. The right candidate is:
- A self-starter: who works with urgency and takes pride in clean, efficient work
- Mechanically inclined: you understand how engines, drivetrains, and hydraulic systems work, or you're eager to learn fast
- Flexible and reliable: you show up when you say you will, and you're okay with a schedule that shifts with the seasons
- Customer-facing and professional: you'll be representing On Site Lube directly on job sites
Requirements
- Valid Utah driver's license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to obtain a Utah medical card (required to operate the service vehicle)
- Basic mechanical knowledge — automotive, agriculture, or construction equipment background all count
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical work in outdoor conditions
- Evenings and weekend availability
Preferred (not required):
- Experience with construction or heavy equipment
- Automotive or diesel service certification
- Experience in a mobile service or field technician role
Why You'll Like It Here
- Competitive hourly pay ($20–$25 DOE)
- No two days are the same
- Outdoor, hands-on work — not a shop, not a desk
- You'll train alongside an experienced technician
- Real potential to grow into full-time as the business expands
- A small team where your work actually matters
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Opportunities for advancement
- Paid training
- Referral program
- Tools provided
Work Location: In person
Salary : $20 - $25
