Job Summary
The Community Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and management of residential properties. This position involves a combination of property maintenance, administrative tasks, and customer relationship management. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents and stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll take the lead in managing the community’s daily operations, serving as the go-to contact for residents, vendors, and the Board of Directors. This includes:
- Coordinating property maintenance and vendor services
- Enforcing community policies and assisting with resident compliance
- Preparing budgets and managing assessments
- Ensuring legal and operational compliance with Chapters 719 and 617, F.S., and related administrative codes
- Scheduling and managing board meetings, posting notices, and maintaining accurate resident records
- Supporting the community’s age-restricted housing status under HOPA regulations
- Oversee property maintenance and coordinate repairs to ensure the community is well-maintained.
- Manage facilities operations, including scheduling maintenance and inspections.
- Provide administrative support, including data entry and maintaining accurate records.
- Foster positive relationships with residents by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
You’re Probably a Match If You Have:
- An active Florida CAM license (required)
- 3–5 years of experience managing a condominium, cooperative, or HOA
- Strong working knowledge of Florida community association laws and administrative rules (especially Chapters 719, 617, and F.A.C. 61-20)
- Proven ability to manage vendors, routine operations, and emergency situations
- Excellent communication and diplomacy skills in resident interactions
- Proficiency with office and property management software
- Familiarity with HOPA compliance (preferred, but not required)
- A desire for long-term stability and the ability to commit to at least one year in the role
- Excellent customer relationship management skills to effectively interact with residents.
- Strong administrative skills with proficiency in data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
