What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Design Engineer position at On Line Design, Inc.?
On Line Design is currently looking for a full-time Innovation Design Engineer to work in Cincinnati, OH. In this role, you will use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to determine critical zones, improve existing designs, and generate reports. You will need to have working design experience with pneumatics and experience with Solid Edge CAD software at an advanced level, including modeling, GD&T, and change management.
Responsibilities:
- Perform FEA using ANSYS, including understanding the basics of finite element theory and fluency in the classic main steps of calculation. Designer is expected to compute the results given by the software to define critical zones, improve the design, and generate reports.
- Drive Innovation Process including new idea generation, discovering opportunities, and advancing technology concepts which lead to improved design applications.
- Ability to quote or support quoting design projects.
- Lead design reviews with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Troubleshoot design failures and develop designs to solve problems
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in mechanical design
- 5 years of experience with ANSYS for Finite Element Analysis
- Proficiency with Pneumatics Design and experience in CE Pneumatic Design
- Proficiency with Solid Edge for detailed modeling
- Excellent understanding of GD&T and Change Management
- Experience with modeling and simulation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Teamcenter (PLM)
- Experience with Lean Methodologies and Continuous Improvement.
- Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) Practices.
- Knowledge of machining practices including EDM, Sheet Metal processing, 3D Printing, general machining and capabilities. Knowledge of innovative machine practices and procedures.
- Previous experience with Equipment Design
