Job Summary
On Grade Services LLC is a locally owned grading and property‑improvement company. Serving Billings, Divide, Dunn, McKenzie, Mountrail, Stark, Williams, County and the surrounding Eastern Montana region. We specialize in high‑quality landscape construction, including hardscaping, sod installation, retaining wall builds, sprinkler system installation, and general site preparation. We are looking for a dependable, motivated individual to join our crew and assist with hands‑on outdoor construction projects. This position involves working with equipment, tools, and materials to build and install functional, long‑lasting outdoor features for residential and commercial clients. The ideal candidate enjoys physical work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and can work efficiently in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment. Experience is preferred but not required — we are willing to train the right person who shows initiative and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Install sod, edging, rock, mulch, and other landscape materials
- Build hardscape features including retaining walls, paver areas, and borders
- Install and repair underground sprinkler/irrigation systems
- Assist with grading, site prep, and soil leveling using hand tools and equipment
- Operate skid steers, compactors, saws, and other construction tools (training provided if needed)
- Load, unload, and move materials and equipment on job sites
- Follow project plans, measurements, and layout instructions
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Work efficiently as part of a crew to complete daily tasks
- Communicate job progress and issues to the crew lead or owner
- Perform general labor tasks as needed to support landscape construction projects
Requirements
- Strong interest in landscape maintenance/ construction
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, lawn care practices, and landscaping techniques
- Ability to operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, laser level, as well as power tools including a concrete saw, reciprocating saw, grinder, etc.
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions including standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of landscape appearance
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward learning new skills and tasks
- Operating various equipment including skid steer, excavator, dozer, etc.
- Valid driver’s license is required
