Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting clinical operations by providing direct patient care, assisting providers, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience in a medium to fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient intake, triage, and vital signs; update medications and medical history
- Provide clinical support including venipuncture, injections, vaccines, EKGs, wound care, and urinalysis (observed collections)
- Assist with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) workflows and patient support
- Document accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and maintain compliance
- Coordinate patient flow, scheduling support, referrals, and front/back office tasks
- Communicate with patients, families, and care team to support patient-centered care
- Follow infection control and safety protocol
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred, but not required
- Successful completion of BCI/FBI background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or MAT preferred.
- Experience with medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
