Position: Enterprise Data Architect
Type: Contract-to-hire
Location: Hybrid — 3 days onsite in Eagan, MN (2 days remote)
Overview
We’re seeking a senior Enterprise Architect with deep data architecture expertise to help shape enterprise data strategy, modernize data platforms, and partner with business and technology leaders across the organization. This role blends hands-on architectural leadership with enterprise architecture best practices (standards, governance, decision frameworks) and is ideal for someone who can operate at both strategic and technical levels.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as an enterprise-level architecture leader with primary ownership across the data landscape (data platforms, analytics, and integration/ETL)
- Partner with business stakeholders, solution architects, and engineering teams to align technology decisions with business outcomes
- Help guide data platform modernization, including transition planning from legacy/previous tooling toward a Databricks-centered ecosystem
- Contribute to the maturity of the Enterprise Architecture function:
- Architecture standards and reference patterns
- Governance and decision frameworks
- Technology selection guidance and consistency across teams
- Act as a bridge between strategy and execution—supporting both high-level direction and technical architectural depth
- Participate in architecture discussions related to AI-enabled analytics and how AI capabilities fit within the broader enterprise/data strategy
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in Enterprise Architecture and enterprise data architecture
- Strong understanding of data platforms, analytics ecosystems, and modern integration/ETL patterns
- Demonstrated ability to influence across teams and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders (including leadership)
- Experience working within (or helping establish) architecture standards and governance processes
- Strong collaboration, relationship-building, and consultative skills
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Databricks architecture experience
- AWS familiarity (including platforms such as Redshift and Glue)
- Spark knowledge
- Experience modernizing legacy enterprise data platforms
- Exposure to AI / analytics architecture concepts and enablement

The projected hourly range for this position is $80.00 to $100.00 an hour
