Interim Periop Educator - Central California
We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Periop Educator to support a hospital in Central California. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically skilled nurse educator who is passionate about frontline staff development, fostering clinical excellence, and advancing quality patient care in high-acuity settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs for periop nursing staff that promote evidence-based practice and clinical competency.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to nurses, supporting skill development, critical thinking, and adherence to current best practices.
- Collaborate with OR leadership to identify learning needs, support new hire orientation, and promote continuing education across the critical care teams.
- Lead initiatives focused on clinical quality, patient safety, and performance improvement, incorporating regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Provide real-time coaching, support during high-acuity events, and facilitate debriefs to encourage learning and growth.
- Support competency validation, policy updates, and integration of new technologies or protocols into clinical practice.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Prior experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator or Clinical Specialist in a Periop setting.
- Strong foundation in Operating Room nursing with a passion for education and staff development.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust with staff, facilitate adult learning, and lead change in a clinical environment.
- Proficient in current AORN practices, patient safety protocols, EMR systems, and interprofessional communication.
- Available to begin within 2-4 weeks and be on-site in Central California throughout the interim assignment.
