What You’ll Do
As an Employment Law SME, you will serve as a trusted expert and thought partner, translating complex legal frameworks into practical, accessible guidance:
- Act as a subject matter expert on California, federal, and local employment laws
- Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments
- Draft, update, and review compliance content, publications, and guidance materials
- Deliver trainings, webinars, and presentations (including harassment prevention)
- Support a Labor Law Helpline, responding to real-time inquiries
- Collaborate on editorial and training initiatives
- Contribute to public-facing thought leadership (podcasts, seminars, etc.)
What We’re Looking For
- J.D. required
- 3–5 years of employment law experience
- Strong background in California employment law compliance
- Experience advising or training both legal and non-legal audiences
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and communication skills
- Comfortable presenting to live and virtual audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Work Environment
This role blends analytical legal work, writing, and public engagement, with occasional travel (primarily within California). It’s ideal for someone who enjoys educating, influencing, and simplifying complex legal concepts.
