Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities

• Assist speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized therapy plans focused on speech disorders, language disorders, and communication challenges.
• Support children with disabilities by providing engaging therapy activities tailored to their developmental needs.
• Conduct speech-language therapy sessions under supervision, utilizing techniques aligned with client-specific goals such as articulation, fluency, voice, and language comprehension.
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, parents, and other team members to develop and modify intervention strategies based on IEP (Individualized Education Program) requirements.
• Monitor and document client progress accurately, maintaining detailed records of therapy sessions, assessments, and communication milestones.
• Support clients’ understanding of medical terminology related to their conditions and facilitate effective communication between clients and healthcare teams.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote therapy sessions when applicable, ensuring continuity of care across different environments.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children or students with disabilities in educational or clinical settings is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child language development, anatomy, physiology, and speech disorders support strategies.
• Familiarity with speech-language pathology techniques including speech therapy plan implementation and early intervention methods.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams to support clients’ communication needs effectively.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology and anatomy knowledge related to speech mechanisms.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients, families, educators, and healthcare professionals to foster collaboration and understanding.
• Bilingual skills are considered a valuable asset for serving diverse populations effectively.
