Team Lead

Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Team Lead coordinates and supports daily production activities, including planning, team direction, and problem-solving, to ensure quality standards and customer delivery requirements are met. This role provides guidance to manufacturing team members, supports efficient operations, and performs hands-on manufacturing tasks as needed to achieve production goals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following established safety guidelines and company standards.
• Lead and support manufacturing team members by coordinating daily production activities, scheduling, and workflow to achieve quality, productivity, and on-time delivery goals.
• Monitor production performance, maintain daily production records, and address challenges such as line stoppages, material shortages, and quality concerns.
• Prepare and maintain the manufacturing area to support efficient operations, including housekeeping, maintenance coordination, and shift handoffs.
• Train, coach, and develop team members on safety requirements, Lean Manufacturing principles (5S), SOPs, quality expectations, and production standards.
• Support employee development through coaching, feedback, skill growth opportunities, and collaboration with Supervisors on performance management activities.
• Conduct employee audits to verify training effectiveness, product knowledge, and adherence to manufacturing processes.
• Serve as a communication link between management and team members to support alignment, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
• Provide hands-on manufacturing support, assist with process needs, and adapt to changing production priorities across departments.
• Learn and support new products, components, and processes while promoting company values, teamwork, and excellent attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to lead, motivate, and support team members while balancing production requirements with employee needs.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, anticipate challenges, and adapt to changing production schedules.
• Ability to train, coach, and mentor team members while fostering teamwork and a positive work environment.
• Ability to use manufacturing tools, interpret prints, and understand production processes.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated reliability and commitment to excellent attendance.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One to three years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Team Lead or supervisory experience beneficial but not required.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to communicate effectively and exchange information with co-workers and team members.
• Frequently required to move throughout the facility and occasionally remain stationary for extended periods.
• Ability to safely maneuver around work areas, equipment, and storage areas as needed.
• Ability to lift, move, and transport components, tools, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to perform visual tasks requiring close and distance vision, color recognition, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment:

• Position operates in a manufacturing facility supporting assembly and welding operations.
• Work environment may include occasional exposure to elevated noise levels and dust.
• Employee is expected to follow established safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
