Patient Financial Coordinator Responsibilities: Not to be considered all inclusive
Patient Financial Coordinator Position Functions and Requirements:
- Fees – Work up and present treatment plans to patients - collect co-insurance and copays.
- Pull benefits (by phone, internet) - daily
- Preauthorize procedures with insurance, as needed
- Schedule surgery/post-op appointments
- Transport charts, supplies and paperwork between offices
- Maintain petty cash box
- Scan all necessary paperwork into patient’s chart
- Cover other offices as needed.
Patient Financial Coordinator Qualifications: Position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent customer service. Must be able to work as a team member, to process information quickly and accurately, and possess a willingness to learn new skills. The position demands a mature and dependable attitude. A good knowledge of computer software applications is also required.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Medical/Dental experience is required.
Education: Minimum of a high school education or equivalent is required.
Working Conditions: Office area of medical practice with a computer, telephone system, and standard office equipment; work hours expected during company operating hours (hours per week vary according to office needs)
