We are seeking an individual who is passionate about joining a team in the manufacturing of high quality laminates and films used in a variety of applications including on cabinetry in kitchen and bath applications, countertops and paneling in recreational vehicles and in the enhancement of interior retail spaces.
The Calender Mix A Operater will run the mix equipment and perform various duties to blend and mix raw materials consistently to produce quality material to be calendered with focus being on matching color to standard and maintaining color consistency throughout the Calendering process.
- Understand and utilize Calender and mill safety equipment and procedures
- Know and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Understand RCRA and MSDS labeling and “Right to Know” requirements
- Know all Calender and Calender Mix emergency procedures
- Actively participate in the company safety program
- Understand and use the startup, operating, and shutdown procedures of all mix equipment
- Clean and maintain mix equipment & Maintain mixing process control
- Maintain and record mixing specs and conditions
- Use and verify necessary weigh scales
- Check and verify formula in system against schedule & batch quantities against scheduled yardage
- Maintain proper temperature control during the mixing process
- Use of all material handling equipment necessary & Perform quality checks as required
- Maintain communication between mixing and calender
- Responsible for scrap and trash disposal & Decide what regrind or rework material be added to the batch
- Oversee B Operators maintaining the housekeeping of the mix area
- Understand the function and how to operate the X-Rite color computer to recall stored color formula, make color correction, label samples, and use of the tags and filters features
- Mix and color-match according to internal control limits against a known color standard (stored numerically) and visual cross-check
- Understand and use the operation and maintenance procedures for the Calender mix transfer and holding vessels
- Understand and use procedures for the identification, storage, and inventory of all calender raw materials
- Knowledge of safely use all required material handling equipment
- Understand the quality system and all quality procedures relevant to this position
- Perform all required quality tests (checking color) as indicated on QCIR sheet
- Ensure that calibration on all mix equipment being used is up to date
- Record Material Usage in SAP System
- Assist Calender Crew Leader in completion of pass on logs, reports, records, and all necessary paperwork
- Document and report all mechanical and electrical problems to maintenance
- Report any and all quality or task difficulties to supervisor, Crew Leader or appropriate personnel
Qualifications
- High school diploma / GED
Work Environment and Environmental Conditions
- Must be able to lift 55 pounds as needed
- Frequently positions self to use/maintain personal protective equipment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Comfortable with working in a manufacturing environment alongside machines, equipment, etc.
- Ability to detect, distinguish, or determine the source of a smell
- Exposure or works around chemical processing, unregulated temperature, dusty conditions
- No travel requirements

Alternating 3-day and 4-day weeks as follows:
6pm-6am, Monday-Wednesday with potential Thursday Overtime and
6pm-6am Monday-Thursday
Salary : $27 - $29
