Metro Customs Brokers, a subsidiary of Omnitrans Inc., is looking for a Customs Quality Control Analyst to join our Technical & Regulatory Team in US Customs Brokerage division.
Location : NY City area, Garden City, Rouses Point, Buffalo
Responsibilities
- Audit of entries prior to release/summary in accordance with current structure.
- Classification of merchandise.
- Customer profile maintenance.
- Perform other general clerical duties as needed.
- Communicate with Clients to provide and obtain information/documentation pertaining to the nature of their products/shipments.
- Work with the internal staff, in advisement of classifications as well as regulatory changes affecting our business processes.
- Assist regulatory staff on projects as necessary
- Cross train in areas such as drawback & reconciliation
- Completion of vocational or technical degree
- 5 years minimum related experience
- Candidate must have excellent classification skills and experience in a broad range of commodities
- Working knowledge of 19CFR
- Experience with US Customs Valuation methodology
- US Import related training required
- CCS designation admirable
- Excellent computer skills; must be fluent with Microsoft Office platform, specifically Excel
- Candidate must be able to work in a paperless environment and have the ability to use relevant software for modifications/mock up details.
- Customer service skills
- High level of autonomy and time management skills required.
