Senior Counsel Responsibilities & Duties
- Collaborate with enterprise legal colleagues and partner with Building Products leadership to enable execution of strategic priorities while managing risk and enhancing efficiency to create business impact.
- Negotiate and structure complex commercial agreements.
- Lead legal support for business-driven initiatives, including pricing strategies, channel optimization, supply chain resiliency, and margin improvement efforts.
- Provide M&A support, including due diligence, cross-functional collaboration, and post-close alignment.
- Collaborate with product development and innovation teams on intellectual property matters.
- Provide practical, actionable guidance to senior leadership, contributing to business reviews, risk assessments, and strategic planning discussions.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized institution
- Extensive experience in corporate legal practice
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Experience with regulatory issues, compliance, and corporate governance
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Exceptional leadership and management abilities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience in risk management and strategic problem solving
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Adequate understanding of the company's industry and market
- Proven legal experience in a corporate environment
- Member in good standing of the bar in any US state
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse legal team
- In-depth understanding of legal procedures, regulations, and structure
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information
- Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment on the organization
- Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and propose effective solutions
