Requirements
We are searching for a candidate with:
- 1-2 years of Slitter operator experience
- Forklift experience required
- Strong mathematical ability – Working with fractions and decimals
- The ability to read and interpret charts, specifications, and production schedules
- Experience using micrometer and calipers
- Solid computer skills, specifically Oracle
- A detail-oriented nature
Duties and Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
- Maintaining a safe work environment
- Using measuring tools (micrometer and calipers) to check metal gage and roll diameters
- Using computer-controlled equipment to monitor / operate line
- Working from drawings, work orders, specifications, instructions, and established methods and procedures
- Using a variety of material handling equipment such as powered fork-lift trucks
- Setting up separator blades to ensure proper “fan out” of metal and eliminate rolled edges
- Interpreting drawings and specifications to plan setups
- Making repairs and adjustments to the equipment, referring major repairs to the maintenance personnel
- Detecting and reporting faulty operation, defective material and equipment, and all unusual conditions to proper supervisor
- Maintaining workplace in a neat and orderly condition
- Making out time and production reports
- Experience entering production into system
- Any additional responsibilities deemed necessary by leadership
