Our client is a leading provider of small, medium-sized and large horsepower compression equipment for the oil and natural gas industry.
Our client is seeking a Lead Engineer who will be responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight across engineering projects and teams. This role ensures projects are executed efficiently, meet industry standards, and align with business objectives.
Lead Engineer Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering projects from initial design through completion
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (design, production, procurement) to ensure timely delivery
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of engineering deliverables, including drawings, BOMs, and P&IDs
- Develop, review, and approve technical documentation and project specifications
- Ensure compliance with applicable oil & gas industry codes and standards (ASME, API 11P, API 618, etc.)
- Design piping systems and separators
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for field engineers and project teams
- Conduct cost analysis and support project estimating efforts
- Perform fleet/package selection based on sales inquiries
- Support additional engineering and operational initiatives as needed
- Supervising application engineering, project engineering, and drafting teams
Lead Engineer Preferred Experience
- 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry
- 5 years of compression-related experience
- Experience with natural gas systems, compressors, pumps, and turbines
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 and ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals
Lead Engineer Requirements
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of safety practices for flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems
- Strong understanding of regulatory and safety standards
- Proven leadership and collaboration skills
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screening, MVR checks, and DOT physical
