Field Assistant – Mobile Wound Care Support (Washington)

Hiring in: Auburn, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Everett, Vancouver, Spokane, and surrounding areas
Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time | Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Reports To: Director of Clinical Operations


Join Our Mobile Healthcare Team Delivering Wound Care Across Washington

Omni Wound Physicians (OWP) is hiring Field Assistants to support mobile wound care providers (MDs, NPs, and PAs) throughout Washington. This field-based role offers exposure to both clinical setup and administrative coordination, ideal for healthcare professionals looking to grow in home health, post-acute care, or mobile medicine.


You’ll ride with a licensed provider to visit patients in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities (ALFs), and private homes, supporting wound care documentation, logistics, safety, and patient care.


Minimum Qualifications

Must meet one of the following:


  • Certified Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

  • OR an Associate degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Nursing, Health Sciences, Public Health)


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Field Support

  • Travel with a licensed provider (MD, NP, or PA) to multiple patient sites per shift

  • Assist with sterile field prep, wound photography, and equipment transport

  • Ensure patient safety, dignity, and comfort during care

  • Follow proper PPE, infection control, and documentation protocols


Administrative Responsibilities

  • Confirm appointments and verify site access

  • Perform all duties only during scheduled company time

  • Upload wound photos, assist with EMR entries (as delegated), and maintain supply and mileage logs

  • Use Slack, Gmail, and company systems to report updates and route changes

  • Ensure compliance with all OWP policies, including timekeeping and professional communication standards


HIPAA, Confidentiality & Compliance

  • Maintain full confidentiality of PHI and follow HIPAA requirements

  • Report suspected privacy breaches or lost devices immediately

  • Use only secure, company-approved platforms for documentation

  • Complete mandatory HIPAA and safety training provided by OWP

Scheduling & Travel

  • Travel up to 36 miles/day with your assigned provider

  • Assist with real-time routing, schedule changes, and daily shift coordination

  • Represent OWP professionally in facilities and private homes


Scope Limitations

OWP team members in this role:

  • Do not assess, diagnose, or treat medical conditions

  • Do not administer medications or perform wound care independently

  • May only perform delegated duties within their certification and under supervision

  • Must work under the direction of a licensed provider (MD/NP/PA)

  • May not perform OWP duties outside of scheduled and approved hours

This position adheres to Washington’s MA delegation regulations (RCW 18.360 and WAC 246-827).

Full-Time OWP Team Members (30 hours/week):

Technical, Physical & Safety Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Proficient with EMRs, Slack, Gmail, and mobile tech tools

  • Able to document clinical information and upload wound photos as delegated

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Frequently walk, stand, climb stairs, and navigate between care sites

Safety & PPE Compliance

  • Use PPE in all required care environments

  • Follow OWP, OSHA, and WA DOH safety/infection control standards

  • Report incidents or unsafe conditions to the Director of Clinical Operations


Preferred but Not Required

  • Experience in wound care, SNFs, ALFs, or home health

  • Familiarity with HIPAA, care coordination, and post-acute workflows

  • Interest in long-term growth in nursing, healthcare operations, or compliance
