Dietary Aide Responsibilities:
- Prepare various foods depending on menu created by dieticians for each meal of the day.
- Operate various kitchen equipment in preparation for the meal, e.g., mixer, meat slicer, food processor, oven, steamer.
- Required to clean work surfaces following shift: sweep floors, wipe down counter space, cover, and store unused foods.
- Must be able to create meals that are appropriate for the elderly and in large quantities. Employee is required to use institutional-sized cookware.
- Must be able to work at a constant pace to ensure that food is ready for each meal of the day.
- Accurately follows diet cards when serving residents.
- Takes and documents food temperatures.
- Follows portion control guidelines.
- May be required to fill in gaps in kitchen help.
- Required to ensure cleanliness of facility
- Promptly and expediently responds to residents call pendants
- Required to do all things necessary for the resident’s health, safety, and welfare
Dietary Aide Qualifications: Previous experience working in food service preferred -
will train the right person
- Must have a willingness to interact with senior residents daily.
- Must be available to rotate weekends.
