About the Position:
As a Vision Therapist, you will play an instrumental role in treating binocular vision dysfunctions for our patients. To do this, you will partner with one of our amazing doctors to address each patient’s challenges with a personalized therapy approach in one-on-one (therapist-to-patient) session. During these sessions, you and our doctors will apply cutting edge technology and therapy procedures, making treatment enjoyable and productive for your patients. You will learn how to use our unique approach that incorporates coordinated movement, balance, auditory processing, and cognitive abilities. Using this methodology will allow you to help our patients develop their visual abilities in a way that will improve their life.
Your Responsibilities:
As a vision therapist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing energetic, warm and caring vision therapy to patients
- Being a positive team player who is flexible and willing to help teammates when needed
- Willing to continue to learn new techniques and methods and be adaptable to different patient needs
- Continue to expand your knowledge and education towards certification in this field
- Communicating in a positive and caring way to patients, parents and teammates
- Completing patient records in a timely and detailed fashion using our patient management software
- Adhering to and embodying the Omni Vision & Learning Center patient service standards
- Assisting the doctors, administrative team, and fellow therapists to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Maintaining a safe and secure workspace
- Keeping a clean and orderly office environment
What is Vision Therapy?
Vision therapy is a rehabilitative program, prescribed to treat developmental and/or neurologically induced dysfunctions of the visual system. The American Optometric Association defines vision therapy as a sequence of neurosensory and neuromuscular activities individually prescribed and monitored by a doctor to develop, rehabilitate, and enhance visual skills and processing.
Vision Therapy Training:
Omni Vision & Learning Center has developed a robust training program. This program is designed specifically for our new team members that have little or no vision therapy experience or knowledge when joining the team. The training combines hands on training with multiple Omni therapists with online training strategies. Our lead therapist will manage the process to ensure you have the support needed to successfully and confidently complete the training. Typically, this training takes 2-4 months before the new therapist begins treating patients. During this time, you will be expected to be present at the clinic daily and you will be compensated for youThis is most often an entry-level position with minimal or no vision therapy training required. A successful therapist is someone willing to learn how to employ vision therapy techniques and direct patients of all ages.

Required
- Are devoted to continued education and interest in neural visual development
- Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and processes
- Ability to independently manage patient care
- Have a passion for helping others with a positive attitude
- Possess a patient-focused mindset
- Able to work in a team environment with oversight from doctors and teammates
- Have basic knowledge and comfortableness working with technology and basic computer software (e.g. updating and maintaining patient records)
Preferred
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Interest in science, communication, therapy or education
- Experience in direct patient care or equivalent interactions
