Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm

Job Summary
The Mold Designer/CNC Programmer is responsible for designing manufacturable and effective tools for the customers needs as well as generating efficient tool paths for the OMNI mold making team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generates tool paths via CAM software for both molds and mill parts.
- Uses 3D modeling software to develop manufacturable tool designs based on customer needs and Omni’s manufacturing capabilities.
- Provides estimated for tooling and machine parts.
Other Operational Responsibilities:
- Using 3d modeling software, develop the most effective tool design possible balancing cost to manufacture the mold with our molders ease of use in mind.
- Build out the WOs of molds using OMNI’s ERP based on the mold design. Assigning the BOM items and specs out special ordered material and tooling on the work order.
- Generates tool paths and specs out the necessary materials to machine each component of a tool.
- Develops and implements improvements in tooling designs and standards based on performance of previous designs. Both from a manufacturing cost standpoint as well as tool effectiveness standpoint.
- Drives improvements for machining capabilities and efficiency of both mold making and mill parts.
- Works with machinists and molders to identify best practices for tool design based on historical tool performance, scrap produced based on design of tool, and tooling repairs based on design features.
- Assist estimating with quoting tooling and machine fixtures as well as identifying manufacturability of a given part design based on limitations of tooling construction.
Requirements:
- CAM software skills required.
- Associates degree preferred or 3-5 years of equivalent combination of training/experience will be considered.
- CNC Programming experience preferred.
- Toolpath programming a plus.
