About the Role
As our Packaging Engineer, you will develop, improve, and support packaging systems, materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes used in the production of packaged lubricant products. You'll partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing, and Sales to improve packaging performance, reduce costs, increase equipment reliability, and support new product launches.
What You'll Do
- Lead packaging improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop packaging specifications and engineering standards.
- Support new product launches and packaging design.
- Lead capital equipment projects from concept through startup.
- Troubleshoot packaging equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Evaluate and implement new packaging technologies and materials.
- Partner with suppliers to improve quality and performance.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Three or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with automated packaging equipment.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading capital equipment projects.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
- Experience in the lubricant, chemical, food and beverage, or consumer packaged goods industries.
- Experience with high-speed bottling, automated packaging systems, palletizing, and warehouse automation.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PLC-controlled equipment, and ERP systems (IFS Cloud preferred).
