Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Health and Safety Manager role based in Shreveport, LA. The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. Day-to-day tasks include conducting workplace risk assessments and safety inspections, investigating incidents and near-misses, and tracking corrective actions. The role also includes designing and delivering safety training, maintaining safety documentation and records, and leading initiatives to reduce hazards and improve safety culture. The Health and Safety Manager collaborates closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to promote safe work practices, support audits, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Health & Safety and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including regulatory compliance and best practices in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Experience in Occupational Health, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementation of control measures.
- Proven ability to design, deliver, and evaluate Safety Training programs for diverse teams and job functions.
- Relevant safety certification such as NEBOSH or equivalent (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and communicate findings clearly to both leadership and frontline team members.
- Effective collaboration, coaching, and influencing skills, with the ability to build a proactive safety culture.
- Experience in chemical, lubricant, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
