Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Materials Manager to oversee the procurement, inventory control, and shipping and receiving operations within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing materials planning, supplier relationships, and logistics to ensure seamless production flow. This role requires strong expertise in production scheduling and a well-rounded understanding of manufacturing processes, demand planning, and lean manufacturing principles. The Materials Manager will play a critical role in optimizing inventory levels, reducing waste, and supporting overall operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain production schedules
  • Open and close job orders and releases
  • Ensure production schedule meets customer delivery dates
  • Oversee end-to-end procurement processes including purchasing, supplier management.
  • Oversee inventory management and control to maintain optimal stock levels aligned with production schedules.
  • Utilize ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to execute material planning, MRP runs, and supply chain activities.
  • Coordinate with production planning teams to ensure materials availability for manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies for lean manufacturing, inventory reduction, and logistics optimization.
  • Monitor supply chain performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate inventory tracking and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality standards, delivery timelines, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to materials management.
  • Lead efforts in demand planning, logistics coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience

  • Proven experience in materials management within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proven experience in creating and maintaining production schedules is required.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems is required, experience in working with Made to Manage (M2M) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes, supplier management, and purchasing strategies.
  • Experience with MRP systems, inventory control, demand planning, and supply chain management.
  • Background in lean manufacturing principles, logistics coordination, warehouse operations, and production planning is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
