Overview:
The role involves providing emergency care and treatment until the arrival of medical services, maintaining a professional appearance and attitude, and performing maintenance duties to ensure a clean and safe facility. Additionally, the Lifeguard will prepare activity reports, handle or refer problems to the Manager, and attend department meetings as scheduled.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully complete the International Lifeguard Training Program and ongoing training requirements.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts as immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patron's events of emergency.
- Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
- Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
- Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports and daily log of events.
- Handles or refers other problems and situations as they arise within the facility to the Manager.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to work both independently and in team procedures.
- Attend department meetings as scheduled along with department staff
- Maintains continuous observation of pool, deck, and surrounding areas to ensure apparent safety hazards are reported and corrected promptly.
- Efficient organization of work areas.
- Ensuring that all opening and closing duties are completed, e.g. locking area, turning off equipment and lights, etc...
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years or older.
- Previous lifeguard experience and lifeguard certification required.
- Must be available to work Memorial Day Weekend.
