Responsibilities
Guest Service & Operations
- Provide friendly, efficient, and professional service to all guests
- Prepare and serve coffee beverages and food items according to established standards
- Accurately process guest transactions including cash, credit cards, and room charges
- Maintain a cash bank and follow proper cash handling procedures
- Verify guest room numbers when processing room charges
- Communicate effectively with guests and associates to ensure guest needs are met
- Address guest questions or concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, service areas, and equipment
- Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure lobby and public areas remain clean and presentable
- Follow all food safety and proper food handling procedures
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly
- Assist with monthly inventory and stock control
- Adhere to company policies regarding employee purchases and transactions
- Interact with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
- Minimum 1 year of cash handling experience required
- Previous barista, café, or food & beverage experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain professional and positive in all situations
- Ability to listen, understand, and respond effectively to guest and team member concerns
- Understanding of proper uniform and grooming standards
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Work performed primarily inside the hotel café, restaurant, and kitchen areas
- Exposure to varying temperatures and food & beverage environments
- Interaction with food products, beverages, and cleaning chemicals
- Espresso machine and coffee brewing equipment
- Coffee pots and beverage machines
- Pizza oven and toaster
- Microwave and refrigeration equipment
- Bus trays, dishware, silverware, and glassware
- Telephone and point-of-sale system
- Standard office equipment (computer, printer, copier, telephone)
- Corporate software programs such as Kronos WFC, OpenTable, Synergy, and Epitome
